A veteran in the nightlife entertainment scene for 10 years, Karen has acquired an impressive status in the industry, having successfully built and operated five respectable clubs regionally. Her first venture, Salt nightclub in Melbourne, was opened in 1999 while she was studying in the city. Since then, she was involved in a string of successes, including Nouvo nightclub and the legendary Zouk Club in Kuala Lumpur; Racks, an upscale billiard and pool bar in Shanghai; and Mimolette, a restaurant and bar located off the beated path which remains one of Singapore’s ‘Best Kept Secrets’. Karen’s diverse skills in conceptualisation, operations, planning and marketing led her to start up The Refinery Studio – a hybrid creative agency dedicated to exploring new communication mediums and tools through the creative use of web-based technology – and its subsidiary media agency, Refinery Media. Singapore Tattoo Show Tat2 2010 are looking for girls who not only carry themselves well but with their tattoos too.

Do you stand out in crowds and feel confident with your tattoos? Do you possess a personality that is as bold as you look?

If you do, we WANT you! Show us what you are made of. Will you be the 1st Miss Tattoo Asia?

In order to compete, you must be at least 18 years of age, female, and have your body tattooed.

Entry is FREE and submission closing date is on 23 November 2009.

Karen Mulder And Other Misbehaving Supermodels | The Frisky

Supermodel Karen Mulder, a Victoria’s Secret Angel from the late ‘90s, was arrested in Paris yesterday for allegedly threatening to attack her plastic surgeon. WTF?!

The Angel-gone-bad was trying to get the female surgeon to reverse a procedure. Karen “began screaming and shouting about the operation and became extremely threatening,” said a detective. “There were repeated calls to the female surgeon who was extremely scared.” We don’t know what kind of botched procedure could made her freak out, but if she got boobs and a stomach like Tara Reid once had, we understand her reaction, but not the violent threats. Karen, sadly, isn’t the only supermodel to exhibit bad behavior, she’s just one of a few to be actually arrested.

Fast Forward Fashion: Karl Lagerfeld insults Heidi Klum

According to Karl Lagerfeld, Heidi Klum is awwwuuut. In a rant reported by The Sun, The Kaiser took his previous attacks on Klum’s too-buxom-for-runway size to the next level, this time bemoaning her irrelevance to the fashion industry!

“I don’t know her. Claudia Schiffer doesn’t know her. She was never in Paris. We don’t know her,” Lagerfeld is quoted as saying just before he takes a swipe at her hubby Seal’s less than fortunate skin. Looks like Lagerfeld still hasn’t gotten past Klum’s humble start in the industry as winner of a 1992 German model search competition.

Klum, who today is known by Marie Claire fashion director, Nina Garcia and top American fashion designer Michael Kors, has not issued a response.
