Yesterday was a very cool day, I had the pleasure of contacting the WINNER of the Get Inked By Chris Garver Contest run by the 1st Singapore Tattoo Show 2009.

Late in 2008 we went out and promoted via this blog our facebook group Tattoo Artistry http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=32140274011 the opportunity for one lucky winner to get a once in a life-time tattoo from Reality TV Star, Chris Garver of Miami Ink.
We received an over-whelming response to the the contest and reviewed 100’s of entries based on the need to inspire us with a 150 words why they think they deserve to be the winner.
So it is with as much pleasure, as the pleasure that was obvious from the winner, that we announce…..

Why I deserve to be tattooed by Chris Garver
Upon reaching legal age, I’ve started a humble private collection of body art, expressing personal pains, joys and marking milestones of growing up. There is no better way to ‘grow’ this collection than having Garver leave his mark on me. Based on my respect and admiration for his skills and artwork, it would be an honour to meet and work with him to mark a life milestone, while also remembering the lifetime experience of sharing something personal with one of the world’s greatest tattoo-ists.
From young, my fascination with tattoos has been strong and body art intrigues me endlessly. They are to me, an artistic expression displaying the skill of the tattoo-er as a confident and creative individual, the passions and life story of the tattoo-ee, and no matter design or colour, are awesome and personal pieces of art. The process of inking myself to grow into and face up to different phases of my life, is a liberating and a personal experience that I enjoy through and through. With this, my passion for ink and what tattooing means to me, I deserve to be inked by Garver – no one will appreciate it more than I!
