A few weeks back (quite a few) I was fortunate to attend Rohit Bhargava’a presentation on his new book, *Personality not included, at Ogilvy Singapore’s office. Amongst local bloggers and Ogilvy staffers Rohit illustrated how the book came to be and some secrets about the book. You will have to buy a copy to find them out.
I have only scrapped the surface of the book on yet another of my bus rides to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from Singapore. I know it;s a five hour ride but I got distracted by a movie. (Catherine Zeta-Jones)
When I got the book after Rohit’s presentation I was mystified by the – what i now know as the Visual Bookmarking, which can be seen on the outer edge of the pages. This is one secret I will give away. The book comes in two parts, Part One is Rohit’s thoughts and supporting case studies of his concept relating to a companies personality or lack of whilst Part two offers guides n tools that correspond to Part One. Clever Rohit !
Another clever addition is that as you read you come across a circle which tells you to “go to guide” – and a page number – diligently I followed the instruction and arrived at the page and well, you will find out if you buy the book.
“PERSONALITY” what an amazing keyword to apply to business. Why has it not been used before ?
Although I have managed to reach page ? I have found a GEM which is directly linkable to a project I am working on, Thanks Rohit
I have a bit of spare time in KL so I will get to read more of this book and give you my next review soon.
Final Note: Rohit’s writing is a bit cheeky as is his publisher: for instance on the usually boring copyright page – opposite Rohit’s autograph 🙂 it states – No chickens were harmed in the writing, printing or distribution of this book.
So far so good…
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the review – much appreciated!
Rohit
