Singapore’s 1st Tattoo Show to educate the art of East West Tattoo Fusion
In another global 1st the Singapore Tattoo Show with Asian Artists from places like Singapore, Taiwan, China and other Asian countries will be side by side with western tattoo artists where fusion between the two cultures and art can take place. It is therefore a true educational journey for participants and visitors to the show who will also be able to get a tattoo and watch live tattooing.
December 2008 – Event organizer, Tattoo.com.sg today announced another global 1st for the 1st Singapore Tattoo Show 2009, to be held at the Singapore Expo Hall 6B from 9 – 11 January 2009. More than 120 Artists are coming to the Tattoo Convention; amongst these are legends in the Tattoo industry such as Paul Booth Last Rites Tattoo, USA, Bob Tyrrell Night Gallery, USA Chris Garver, Miami Ink & Robert Hernandez, Spain.
The Singapore Tattoo Show is unique in more ways than it being the first. It is also the first time that Asian Artists from places like Singapore, Taiwan and other Asian countries will be side by side with western tattoo artists where fusion between the two cultures and art can take place. It is therefore a true educational journey for participants and visitors to the show.
“I am pleased to be able to share my vision for the tattoo industry in Asia for the very first time. The Fusion of East & West Tattoo Artistry has been a personal passion of mine and the opportunity to share and educate this passion with a community of creative artists which is the primary driver for holding the 1st Singapore Tattoo Show,” said Kirby Lian from Utopia Studio, the Official Event Partner who is also the show’s inspirational mentor.
The show is also positioned to help change perceptions about the Tattoo industry and those with tattoos. Historically, heavily tattooed people have been associated with crime. Today past offenders have rehabilitated and are leading productive lives contributing to the eco-social communities they live in. Tattoos today are for everyone from fashion seekers to devotees.
The extraordinary first tattoo show in Singapore will present over 120 artists and exhibitors from around the globe and will represent all the various modern and traditional tattoo styles ticking away with their machines and traditional tools in an exciting exhibition styled atmosphere. Over 5000 visitors from around the region are expected to attend the 3-day event.
Activities at the event include daily tattoo contests for the exhibitors to win awards for categories such as Best Cover Up, Best Tribal, and Most Realistic amongst many other categories. Winners will receive Awards, which will be given out by a panel of judges. LIVE bands will perform daily and LIVE tattooing which is the main draw to be conducted throughout the shows 3-day duration where visitors to the show can get inked by any tattoo artists they desire.
